ANKARA 

Anadolu's senior photojournalist Sebnem Coskun's images of polar regions will be showcased at the 36th Visa Pour L'Image, a renowned international photojournalism festival in France, to be held on Aug. 31-Sept. 15.

Coskun's photo series, the Melting World of the Polar Bears, will be featured in the festival's climate change section. The work stems from Coskun's participation in Türkiye's scientific expeditions to the Arctic and Antarctic.

"We are trying to be the voice behind the harmonious and holistic perfection of nature and the change it is experiencing due to global climate change," Coskun said.

Anadolu will maintain a booth at the festival to promote its work and the Istanbul Photo Awards competition.

The festival, which attracts leading figures from global media organizations, will host 25 photography exhibitions and discussions on industry issues.

As Anadolu competes with the world's largest news agencies in the field of photography, the images captured by its photojournalists are widely covered in the world press and are deemed worthy of a number of awards.

Coskun has garnered numerous accolades for her work. She recently won two prizes at the fourth MedFoto-International Mediterranean Photography Contest, including the grand prize for her image on the Death of Baby Sea Turtles.

Additionally, her photo series on traveling bird trotter secured second place in the Daily Life Picture Story category at POY Asia, a branch of the prestigious Pictures of the Year International competition.

A documentary, titled The Melting World of the Polar Bears, directed by Coskun and produced by Anadolu, has also received international recognition, winning awards at film festivals in Toronto and Miami.
