British economy grows by 0.2% month-on-month in August
Services, production and construction outputs grow in August
ISTANBUL
The UK's economy has grown by 0.2% in August on a monthly basis, after posting no change in July, the Office for National Statistics (Ons) revealed on Friday.
Services output rose by 0.1% in August 2024, following an increase of 0.1% in July 2024, the Ons stated, adding that production output grew by 0.5% in August 2024, following a fall of 0.7% in July 2024.
Professional, scientific and technical activities was the largest positive contributor to the rise in services output, it said.
Construction output also grew by 0.4% in August 2024, following a fall of 0.4% in July 2024.
"Real GDP is estimated to have grown by 0.2% in the three months to August 2024 compared with the three months to May 2024," it added.
