Monaco climb to EuroLeague top spot by beating Maccabi Playtika Tel Aviv 85-79

ANKARA 

Monaco climbed to the Turkish Airlines EuroLeague top spot by beating Maccabi Playtika Tel Aviv 85-79 on Wednesday. 

Despite falling behind in the first half, Monaco turned the tide in the third quarter and managed to stay on top until the game’s end.

French guard Elie Okobo and US guard Mike James led their team to victory with 17 points each at Monaco's Salle Gaston Medecin.

Maccabi's US guard Jordan Loyd was the top scorer of his team with 16 points.

Monaco lead the standings with two wins in two games, while Maccabi Playtika Tel Aviv are in the 8th spot with one win and one loss.  

Crvena Zvezda get their 2nd win in 2 games  

Crvena Zvezda Belgrade earned their second win in two EuroLeague games by beating Baskonia Vitoria-Gasteiz 78-71 on Wednesday.

US guard Isaiah Canaan dropped 19 points for the Serbian side at Belgrade Arena.

Nigerian center Chima Moneke was the most scoring player of the Spanish side Baskonia with 19 points.

Crvena Zvezda are in the second spot behind Monaco, with two wins and a point difference, while Baskonia are 9th, with one win and one loss.
