The first meeting of the Pakistan-China-Iran Trilateral Consultation on counter-terrorism and security was held on Wednesday in Beijing, said China's Foreign Ministry.

Various issues were on the agenda, including regional anti-terrorism efforts and cooperation against cross-border terrorists, the statement said on the meeting, attended by senior diplomats of the three countries.

They decided to institutionalize a previous Trilateral Consultation on counter-terrorism and security, though details are still to be worked out, the ministry added.

The huddle was attended by Bai Tian, chief of external security affairs at the Chinese Foreign Ministry, Abdul Hameed, director-general of Pakistan's Foreign Ministry, and Seyed Rasoul Mosavi, assistant foreign minister and head of South Asia at the Iranian Foreign Ministry.

China also held separate bilateral consultations on anti-terrorism with the other two sides.
