ISTANBUL
Russia claimed on Sunday it took control of four settlements in Ukraine’s northeastern Kharkiv region, where heavy fighting has continued for a few days.
A statement by the Defense Ministry claimed that its forces captured the settlements of Hatyshche, Krasne, Morokhovets and Oliinykove.
Ukrainian authorities did not immediately comment on the claims.
Ukraine’s Commander-in-Chief Oleksandr Syrskyi earlier on Sunday said the situation on the frontline had “significantly worsened” during the past week.
