Talks focus on bilateral ties, Ukraine’s war with Russia
RIYADH
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy arrived in the Saudi capital Riyadh on Tuesday for talks on bilateral relations and his country’s war with Russia.
Zelenskyy met with Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman and they discussed bilateral ties and the Russia-Ukraine war, the state news agency SPA reported.
Bin Salman reiterated the kingdom’s support for all efforts to resolve the crisis and ameliorate its humanitarian consequences, SPA said.
Zelenskyy, for his part, expressed appreciation and gratitude for Saudi Arabia’s dedicated efforts in this regard, the broadcaster said.
Zelenskyy visited Saudi Arabia for the first time in May 2023 amid Saudi mediation efforts between Kyiv and Moscow.
Russia launched its war on Ukraine on Feb. 24, 2022, just over two years ago.
