Chinese President Xi Jinping said on Wednesday that China will not slow its climate actions regardless of global developments, according to state media.

“However, the world may change, China will not reduce its support for international cooperation and will not cease its efforts to build a community with a shared future for mankind,” Xi said via video link at the Leaders Meeting on Climate and the Just Transition, Xinhua News reported.

Xi said China has developed the world's largest and fastest-growing renewable energy system, as well as the most comprehensive new energy industrial chain.

He added that China leads the world in terms of the pace and scale of environmental greening, accounting for 25% of all new afforestation.

Xi called for greater international cooperation, urging countries to overcome divisions and conflict through openness and inclusion, as well as to promote innovation and industrial transformation through collaboration.

He also emphasized the importance of promoting the global flow of high-quality green technologies and products to ensure access and affordability, particularly in developing countries.
