Zelenskyy instructs military to 'blind' Russian Zala, Orlan reconnaissance drones
Ukrainian president says Ukraine has solution to fighting Russian drones
MOSCOW
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy instructed military chiefs on Wednesday "to blind" Russian Zala and Orlan reconnaissance drones.
Speaking at a meeting with representatives from the military commandment, industry and government in Kyiv, Zelenskyy urged them to "implement a systematic approach, from identification to the effective use of electronic warfare and means of destruction."
"The Orlan or Zala at the front line are the eyes for Russian artillery and attack drones. Ukraine has a solution to blind them," he said.
Zelenskyy said he gave instructions to create "a comprehensive system that would connect the army and industry so that manufacturers know exactly the needs of the front, and the army knows the production capabilities in all regions."
Last week Zelenskyy said the military told him about problems in the army with the staffing of units, strengthening command positions and management.
He promised that troops would be reinforced with drones and electronic warfare.
