1 million people in Gaza fled their homes in 1 week: UNRWA
‘No place is safe in Gaza,’ says United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East
GAZA CITY, Palestine
At least one million people in Gaza were forced to flee their homes in just one week, the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA) said late Sunday.
“At least 1 million people were forced to flee their homes in one week alone. A river of people continues to flow south,” said UNRWA, adding “no place is safe in Gaza.”
At least 2,670 Palestinians have been killed and more than 9,600 others injured in Israeli attacks on the enclave since Oct. 7, according to the Palestinian Health Ministry.
Home to 2.2 million people, the Gaza Strip has been under blockade since 2006.
