1 Palestinian injured as Israeli army advances in Netzarim Corridor in Gaza
Israeli forces move close to Al-Rashid Road, open fire on Palestinians moving along route, witnesses say

GAZA CITY, Palestine/ANKARA
Israeli army forces pushed deep into the Netzarim Corridor, which separates northern Gaza from the south, witnesses said.
Military vehicles moved close to the Al-Rashid Coastal Road in central Gaza and opened fire on Palestinians trying to move along the road, they added.
A medical source said that one person was injured by shells fired by Israeli tanks at the corridor and was transferred to Al-Awda Hospital in central Gaza.
Al-Rashid Road is the only route allowed for Palestinians to use on foot for moving from northern Gaza to the south.
The Israeli army launched a surprise aerial campaign on the Gaza Strip on March 18, killing 855 people, injuring nearly 1,900 others, and shattering a ceasefire and prisoner exchange agreement that took hold in January.
More than 50,200 Palestinians have been killed, mostly women and children, and over 113,900 injured in a brutal Israeli military onslaught on Gaza since October 2023.
The International Criminal Court issued arrest warrants last November for Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and his former Defense Minister Yoav Gallant for war crimes and crimes against humanity in Gaza.
Israel also faces a genocide case at the International Court of Justice for its war on the enclave.
