Two pro-government fighters were killed in a shooting attack in southern Iraq, according to a local police officer on Saturday.
A foot patrol of the Shia Hashd al-Shaabi militia came under fire in north of the Babil province late Friday, Police First Lieutenant Ihsan Khaled told Anadolu Agency.
He said two other fighters were injured in the attack.
There was no claim of responsibility for the shooting.
Friday's attack was the first on the Hashd al-Shaabi militia in Babil since the group captured the province from Daesh terrorist organization more than two years ago.
