Two people were killed Thursday in an Israeli airstrike targeting a vehicle in Nabatiyeh in southern Lebanon.

"An Israeli airstrike targeted a vehicle between the towns of Doueir and Ansar in Nabatiyeh, resulting in two martyrs,” Lebanon’s National News Agency reported.

Israeli airstrikes on southern Lebanese towns continue, with the number of injuries from a strike Thursday in the historic district of Tyre rising to 12.

A massive Israeli air campaign in Lebanon has been ongoing since late September against what it claims are Hezbollah targets in an escalation of year-long cross-border warfare since the start of the war in the Gaza Strip.

More than 3,100 people have been killed and over 13,800 injured in Israeli attacks since October 2023, according to Lebanese health authorities.

Israel launched a ground assault into southern Lebanon on Oct. 1.
