2 more Hezbollah fighters killed in clashes on Lebanon’s border with Israel, pushing death toll to 117
With latest fatalities, death toll of Hezbollah fighters has risen to 117 since Oct. 8, according to Anadolu tally
BEIRUT
Lebanese group Hezbollah announced on Wednesday the death of two of its fighters in clashes with Israel in southern Lebanon.
In separate statements, the group said that Hassan Ibrahim from the town of Blida and Wissam Mortada from the town of Aita al-Jabal were killed in the clashes.
With the latest fatalities, the death toll of Hezbollah fighters has risen to 117 since Oct. 8, according to an Anadolu tally.
Tensions have flared along the Lebanese-Israeli border amid intermittent exchanges of fire between the Lebanese Hezbollah group and Israeli forces in the deadliest clashes since the two sides fought a full-scale war in 2006.
The border tension came amid an Israeli military campaign in the Gaza Strip following a cross-border attack by Hamas on Oct. 7.
