RAMALLAH, Palestine

Two Palestinian men were wounded on Tuesday evening by Israeli army gunfire during a raid on al-Fawwar refugee camp in the southern West Bank city of Hebron.

The Palestinian Red Crescent Society said in a statement that its crews transported two injured to the hospital, one in critical condition after being shot in the chest and the other shot in the legs.

Earlier on Tuesday, Israeli forces raided al-Fawwar camp and the nearby town of Dura, with gunfire heard in the camp as the raid unfolded, eyewitnesses told Anadolu.

In a related development, eyewitnesses said Israeli forces stormed the village of at-Tabaqa, south of Hebron, searching several homes and causing damage.

Meanwhile, the official Palestinian news agency WAFA reported that illegal Israeli settlers attacked a house in Hebron's village of al-Karmil, destroying household items as well as uprooting trees and damaging crops in the surrounding fields.

The illegal Israeli settlers also bulldozed land belonging to the Jabareen and Abu Aram families. Israeli forces have reportedly barred the families from accessing or cultivating their land for months, the news agency said.

In the northern West Bank, WAFA reported that illegal Israeli settlers hurled stones at Palestinian vehicles near the main entrance to Yasuf village, east of Salfit, causing several cars to be damaged.

Israeli forces also entered the village of Tell, southwest of Nablus, with military vehicles, triggering clashes with Palestinians. Soldiers fired tear gas, but no arrests were reported, the news agency said.

Furthermore, the state-run Palestinian TV reported that Israeli forces raided the town of Hizma, north of Jerusalem, with no immediate reports of casualties.

Over the past few years, the Israeli military has conducted regular raids in the West Bank, which have escalated with the beginning of the war on Gaza on Oct. 7, 2023.

Palestinians have also been brutally attacked by illegal Israeli settlers.

At least 716 Palestinians have since been killed and over 5,750 others injured by Israeli army fire in the occupied territory, according to the Health Ministry.

In a landmark opinion on July 19, the International Court of Justice declared Israel's decades-long occupation of Palestinian land "illegal" and demanded the evacuation of all existing settlements in the West Bank and East Jerusalem.
