200 aid trucks entered Gaza via Rafah border crossing on Tuesday: Media office
Qatar-mediated humanitarian pause extended as more much-needed aid delivered to Gaza Strip
GAZA CITY, Palestine
A total of 200 trucks loaded with humanitarian aid entered the Gaza Strip on Tuesday via Egypt’s Rafah border crossing during the humanitarian pause between Israel and Palestinian group Hamas.
The aid includes four fuel trucks and others carrying water, food, and medicines, Wael Abu Mohsen, media director of the Rafah crossing, told Anadolu.
The entry of more humanitarian aid is scheduled to continue in the coming hours, he added.
Qatar announced an agreement late Monday to extend an initial four-day humanitarian pause in fighting between Israel and Hamas for an additional two days, under which further prisoner exchanges will be carried out and there will be more opportunities to deliver aid.
Israel launched a massive military campaign in the Gaza Strip following a cross-border attack by Hamas on Oct. 7.
It has since killed over 15,000 people, including 6,150 children and 4,000 women, according to health authorities in the enclave.
The official Israeli death toll stands at 1,200.
