Israeli strikes killed at least five people Friday in areas across southern Lebanon, according to local media reports.

In one of the attacks by an Israeli drone, a car on the Al-Qasimiyah-Burj Rahal road was hit in Tyre city, killing its driver, the official Lebanese news agency reported.

Separately, Israeli warplanes struck a building in the town of Khirbet Selem, resulting in the death of four people, while injuring four others.

The agency also reported that the rescue teams removed the bodies of three people killed in a previous Israeli airstrike at dawn in the town of Al-Bazourieh.

More Israeli airstrikes were reported throughout the day in other parts of southern Lebanon, including the towns of Nabatieh al-Fawqa, Majdal Zoun, and Anqoun.

Israel has mounted a huge air campaign in Lebanon since last month against what it claims are Hezbollah targets in an escalation from year-long cross-border warfare between Israel and the Lebanese group Hezbollah since the start of Israel’s brutal offensive on the Gaza Strip.

Israel expanded the conflict this year by launching an incursion into southern Lebanon on Oct. 1.
