At least six Palestinians were killed and several others injured in Israeli airstrikes on a home and a group of civilians in Khan Younis city in the southern Gaza Strip on Monday, medics said.

A medical source told Anadolu that five people from a single family were killed in an Israeli airstrike on a home in eastern Khan Younis.

A sixth Palestinian was killed and several people were injured in the same area when an Israeli drone shelled a group of civilians.

The official news agency Wafa, citing medical sources, said one Palestinian fisherman was injured as Israeli gunboats opened fire on Palestinian fishing boats off the Rafah coast.

The Israeli artillery also shelled the eastern areas of Gaza City, including the Zeitoun neighborhood and the Sha'af area, the broadcaster said.

The Israeli army renewed its assault on Gaza on March 18, shattering a Jan. 19 ceasefire and prisoner exchange agreement.

Nearly 51,000 Palestinians, most of them women and children, have been killed in Gaza in a brutal Israeli onslaught since October 2023.

The International Criminal Court issued arrest warrants last November for Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and his former Defense Minister Yoav Gallant for war crimes and crimes against humanity in Gaza.

Israel also faces a genocide case at the International Court of Justice for its war on the enclave.
