GAZA CITY, Palestine

The Israeli army killed 71 journalists since the start of aggression on the Gaza Strip on Oct. 7.

“The latest casualty in the Israeli attacks was the Al-Aqsa satellite photojournalist, Abdullah Darwish,” the government media office in the Gaza Strip said, without providing details on the circumstances of his death.

With the new death, the total number of journalists killed in Gaza has risen to 71, the media office reported.

“The Israeli occupation's assassination of Palestinian journalists and media professionals aims to obscure the truth,” the media office said, adding that this is an attempt to terrorize journalists to discourage them from carrying out their duties and block the Palestinian narrative.

At least 32 Palestinians were killed and several others injured in Israeli air strikes on the blockaded Gaza Strip within three hours after the humanitarian pause ended on Friday morning, the Palestinian Health Ministry in Gaza announced on Friday.

The pause between Israel and Hamas, which went into effect on Nov. 24, ended on Friday morning.
