IDLIB, Syria
The Bashar al-Assad regime forces on Thursday struck civilian settlements in Idlib de-escalation zone of Syria, killing two people and wounding seven others.
The White Helmets civil defense agency told Anadolu Agency that the regime forces and Iranian-backed terror groups targeted Lahaya village with mortar shots, artilleries and rockets.
In September last year, Turkey and Russia hammered Sochi agreement to strengthen the ceasefire in Idlib de-escalation zone and Russia was committed to preventing Assad regime's aggression as a guarantor.
In line with the agreement, the military opposition withdrew heavy weaponry from the region; however, the Assad regime continues its intense attacks in violation of the Sochi agreement.
