Bahrain said Thursday it intercepted and destroyed seven drones from Iran, marking the second consecutive day of strikes despite an ongoing ceasefire between Washington and Tehran.
Bahrain’s Defense Force said in a statement that it had intercepted 194 missiles and 515 drones since the start of Iranian attacks on Feb. 28.
No details were given about injuries or damage from the attacks.
Iran and the US announced a two-week truce on Tuesday aimed at paving the way for a final agreement to end a war launched by Washington and Tel Aviv against Tehran on Feb. 28, killing more than 3,000 people, according to Iran’s Forensic Authority.
The truce was announced less than two hours before the expiry of a deadline US President Donald Trump had repeatedly extended for Iran to reopen the Strait of Hormuz and accept an agreement or “a whole civilization will die tonight, never to be brought back again.”
