Collection of body parts in plastic bags from Gaza school strike highlights Israel’s brutality
At least 100 Palestinians killed in attack
JERUSALEM
The collection of dismembered body parts in plastic bags following an attack by Israeli warplanes on a school sheltering displaced people in Gaza highlights the extreme levels of violence and brutality faced by Palestinians.
At least 100 Palestinians were killed early Saturday when the Israeli military bombed the Al-Taba'een school in the Al-Daraj neighborhood in eastern Gaza City.
Witnesses reported that the attack occurred while people were gathered in the school courtyard for morning prayers.
Journalists and health and civil defense teams working in the region struggled to describe the disaster amid the scattered bodies, some of which were burned.
Videos shared on social media showed flames rising from the school after the attack, while screams were audible.
The attack came shortly after calls from mediating countries Egypt, Qatar and the US for an immediate cease-fire in the Gaza Strip.
