BEIRUT
The death toll from Israel's airstrikes on Lebanon since October last year has risen to 2,897, including 30 who were killed on Thursday, the Lebanese Health Ministry said Friday.
According to a statement, 13,150 people have also been injured since the conflict, triggered by the Gaza war, began in October 2023.
Israeli airstrikes on southern and eastern Lebanon killed 30 people and another 183 were wounded on Thursday, the ministry said.
It said Israel carried out 120 airstrikes on various areas of Lebanon including Beirut's southern suburb on Thursday, bringing the total number of attacks since the beginning of aggression to 11,767.
Israel has mounted a huge air campaign in Lebanon since late September against what it claims are Hezbollah targets, in an escalation from a year of cross-border warfare. It also launched a ground invasion of Lebanon on Oct. 1.
