BEIRUT
The death toll from Israel's airstrikes on Lebanon since October last year has risen to 2,865, including 82 people killed on Wednesday, the Lebanese Health Ministry said on Thursday.
According to a statement, 13,047 people have been injured since the conflict began in October 2023.
Israeli airstrikes on southern and eastern Lebanon left 45 people dead and another 110 injured on Wednesday, the ministry said.
It added that the Israeli army carried out 68 airstrikes on various areas of Lebanon on Wednesday, bringing the total number of attacks since the beginning of the aggression to 11,647.
Israel has mounted a huge air campaign in Lebanon since late last month against what it claims are Hezbollah targets, in an escalation from a year of cross-border warfare since the start of Tel Aviv’s onslaught against the Gaza Strip. It also launched a ground invasion of Lebanon on Oct. 1.
