Demonstrators stage rally in Stockholm to remember slain children in Gaza
Protesters call for boycott of Israeli products, companies supporting Israel
STOCKHOLM
A group of protesters demonstrated in the Swedish capital Friday to commemorate Palestinian children killed in Gaza.
Gathering at Sergels torg, the crowd protested Israeli attacks by chanting pro-Palestine slogans, including "Free Palestine" and "End the occupation."
Protesters called for a boycott of Israeli products and companies supporting Israel as they carried Palestinian flags.
On Oct. 7, Hamas and Palestinian factions in Gaza launched a military operation called Al-Aqsa Flood in response to “the continuous attacks by Israeli forces and settlers against the Palestinian people, their property, and holy sites, especially the Al-Aqsa Mosque in occupied East Jerusalem.”
Israel has since killed more than 27,000 victims, including thousands of women and children in the Gaza Strip in response to the cross-border offensive by Hamas, which took the lives of 1,200 people.
The military onslaught has caused mass displacement and destruction and created conditions for famine in Gaza.
