The Israeli army detained 260 Palestinians from across the occupied West Bank in the past four days of the temporary humanitarian pause in Gaza, according to official figures.

Last Friday the pause initially set for four days between Israel and the Palestinian factions entered into force, but Hamas on Monday confirmed a two-day extension.

The Palestinian Prisoners Society NGO said while the humanitarian pause agreement in Gaza includes the release of 150 Palestinians, the Israeli army had detained 260 Palestinians from the West Bank including occupied East Jerusalem in the past four days.

Israel is expected to release the fourth and last batch of the 150 Palestinian prisoners in exchange of releasing 50 Israelis in batches over the four-day humanitarian pause.

Amani Sarahneh from the Palestinian Prisoners Society told Anadolu that the Israeli arrest campaigns of Palestinian homes include sabotaging the contents of their homes and assaulting the detainees and their family members.

"Since Oct. 7, Israel has detained 3,260 Palestinians from the West Bank," Amani added.

Tensions have been high across the West Bank since fighting broke out Oct. 7 between Palestinian groups and Israel in Gaza.

A total of 237 Palestinians have since been killed by the Israeli forces in the West Bank, in addition to more than 2,950 injured, according to the Palestinian Health Ministry.
