Egypt, Kuwait sign military agreement for cooperation, exchange of expertise

CAIRO
Egypt and Kuwait signed on Sunday a military cooperation agreement for the exchange of expertise in various sectors.
The agreement came during a meeting between Egyptian Defense Minister Abdel Majeed Saqr and his Kuwaiti counterpart Sheikh Fahad Youssef Saud Al-Sabah, at the Defense Ministry headquarters in Cairo, according to a statement from the Egyptian army.
The meeting addressed "the latest developments on both the regional and international fronts and their impact on security and stability in the region amid current circumstances and challenges."
They also discussed ways to enhance military relations between the two sides.
The Egyptian minister expressed commitment to supporting the prospects of military cooperation between the armed forces of both sides.
For his part, the Kuwaiti minister praised "deep-rooted" bilateral relations, expressing hope that the upcoming phase would witness more joint cooperation between the armed forces of both sides.
The signing ceremony was attended by Ahmed Khalifa, chief of staff of the Egyptian armed forces, and a number of military leaders from both countries.
