Egyptian President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi met with his Algerian counterpart Abdelmadjid Tebboune upon his arrival at Cairo airport on Sunday at the start of an Arab tour.

No details were provided by the Egyptian presidency about the duration of the Algerian president’s visit to Egypt.

Tebboune’s Arab tour will also include Oman after Egypt.

The Algerian presidency said Tebboune’s tour aims “to strengthen the bonds of brotherhood and cooperation” with the two countries.

Sunday’s visit was the first by Tebboune to Egypt since he was re-elected last month. He had previously visited Cairo in January 2022.
