JERUSALEM
Former Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Olmert was released from prison on parole on Sunday, according to local media.
Olmert, 71, was granted early release by a parole board after serving two-thirds of a 27-month jail sentence for corruption.
Olmert was jailed in 2016 for bribery and obstruction of justice when he was a trade minister.
He was the first Israeli head of government to be jailed.
Olmert was elected prime minister in 2006 but resigned three years later.
