Four soldiers killed in ambush in eastern Yemen
No group has claimed responsibility for deadly attack
HADHRAMAUT, Yemen
Four Yemeni soldiers were killed Tuesday in an ambush in Yemen's Hadhramaut province, according to a local military source.
An improvised explosive device went off while a Yemeni military patrol was passing through Hadhramaut’s city of Seiyun, a military source told Anadolu Agency on condition of anonymity as he was not authorized to speak to media.
Following the blast, a group of gunmen opened fire on the patrol, killing four and injuring several others.
No group has claimed responsibility for the attack.
Yemen has been wracked by chaos since 2014, when the Houthi rebel group overran much of the country, including capital Sanaa.
The crisis escalated in 2015 when a Saudi-led military coalition launched a devastating air campaign aimed at rolling back Houthi gains.
