ISTANBUL
Thousands of people in Istanbul on Saturday joined the "Great Palestine Meeting," a pro-Palestine rally in Istanbul.
Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, who is expected to address the gathering, invited the nation to attend the rally to show “brotherhood between Turks and Palestinians to the world.”
People from different walks of life, carrying Turkish and Palestinian flags, have gathered at the Ataturk Airport. Some of the attendants also wore headbands with the inscription, "We are all Palestinians," "End the genocide, let the children live" and "Be the voice of Palestinian children."
LED screens have been set up across the venue, while tight security measures were being implemented at the rally area.
Internationally renowned artists such as Yusuf Islam, Maher Zain, and Omer Karaoglu will take the stage during the event.
Besides Erdogan, leaders of other political parties, state officials from various countries, and representatives from the media, arts, sports, culture, and business sectors will be in attendance.
