Hamas' Al-Qassam Brigades targets Israeli military barracks from Lebanon with rockets
Hezbollah also announces that it targeted Israeli military locations across border areas with Israel
BEIRUT
The Palestinian Hamas group's armed wing on Monday said it had attacked Israeli military barracks from Lebanon with rockets.
In a statement, the Al-Qassam Brigades said it struck the Liman military barracks in the Western Galilee area, in response to what it called "Zionist massacres on civilians in the Gaza Strip."
Meanwhile, the Hezbollah group also announced in separate statements that it had targeted several Israeli military locations across the border areas with Israel.
In one statement, the group said its fighters had targeted a gathering of Israeli soldiers in the vicinity of the Hanita military site.
In another statement, Hezbollah also said it struck the settlements of Avivim and Mtolleh.
Tension has flared along the border between Lebanon and Israel amid intermittent exchanges of fire between Israeli forces and Hezbollah, in the deadliest clashes since the two sides fought a full-scale war in 2006.
The border tension comes amid an Israeli military offensive in the Gaza Strip following a cross-border attack by Hamas on Oct. 7. The Israeli offenseive has taken over 20,000 lives.
