The Palestinian resistance group, Hamas, on Friday released the names of 183 Palestinian detainees in Israeli jails who are slated to be freed Saturday as part of the ceasefire and prisoner swap deal with Israel.

In a statement, the Hamas-run Prisoners' Information Office said those set to be freed include 18 serving life sentences, 54 serving long-term sentences, and 111 Palestinians from Gaza who were arrested after Oct. 7, 2023.

According to the statement, 54 of the prisoners set to be released on Saturday are Fatah members, eight are Hamas members, six are affiliated with the Islamic Jihad, two belong to the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine (PFLP), and two are from the Democratic Front for the Liberation of Palestine (DFLP).

It also stated that seven of the prisoners would be deported after their release from Israeli jails.

Earlier Friday, the Al-Qassam Brigades, the armed wing of Hamas, announced the names of three Israeli captives set to be released Saturday.

“As part of the Al-Aqsa Flood prisoner exchange deal, Al-Qassam Brigades have decided to release the following Israeli captives on Saturday, Feb. 1, 2025: Ofer Calderon, Keith Samuel Siegel, and Yarden Bibas,” said spokesperson Abu Ubeida.

Under phase one of the deal, which is to last 42 days, 33 Israeli captives will be released in exchange for an estimated 1,700 - 2,000 Palestinian detainees.

Hamas freed three Israeli and five Thai hostages in Gaza on Thursday, while Israel released 110 Palestinian prisoners. It was the third exchange of its kind since the ceasefire agreement between Israel and Hamas took effect Jan. 19.

Israel’s genocidal war has killed more than 47,400 Palestinians, most of them women and children, in Gaza since Oct. 7, 2023.
