A Houthi commander was killed during clashes with Yemen's army, Yemeni state media reported on Friday.
State-run Saba TV reported that Houthi leader Mohammed Harith Ali Mutlaq al-Alawi was killed during clashes on the country's western coast.
The report did not provide further details.
There was no immediate comment from the Houthi group regarding Alawi's death.
This comes a day after the government-aligned National Resistance Forces announced the killing of another Houthi commander, Kamel Khalil Nasser al-Wazir, along with several of his companions in the al-Kadha area, west of Taiz governorate in southwestern Yemen.
The developments came amid a military escalation in areas west of Taiz on Thursday between government forces and the Houthis.
The escalation marks one of the most significant rounds of fighting in Taiz since the UN-brokered truce in 2022, amid UN warnings of the risk of Yemen returning to widespread conflict.
The Houthis have controlled the capital Sanaa and other cities since September 2014, while the internationally recognized government and allied forces control large areas in the south, east and west of the country.
