Houthis attack Aramco oil facility in Saudi Arabia's Jeddah: Arab Coalition

RIYADH

The Saudi-led coalition in Yemen said on Friday that an Aramco oil facility in Saudi Arabia's Jeddah was attacked by Houthis.

A coalition statement cited by the Saudi state news agency SPA said that Saudi Aramco’s Bulk Plant in Jeddah was targeted with an “act of aggression” by Iran-backed Houthi militia.

The statement added that following the "hostile” attack, a fire erupted in tanks in the oil facility, however, it was controlled, and no casualties were reported.

Yemen has been engulfed by violence and instability since 2014, when Iran-aligned Houthis captured much of the country, including the capital Sanaa.

According to the UN, the conflict has created one of the world's worst man-made humanitarian crises.
