Islamic Jihad seizes Israeli surveillance drone hovering over Khan Younis city in southern Gaza

ISTANBUL

The Al-Quds Brigades, the military wing of the Islamic Jihad Movement, announced Tuesday evening that it had seized an Israeli surveillance drone hovering over the city of Khan Younis in southern Gaza.

In a post on Telegram, the group stated that it had "taken control of a Zionist reconnaissance drone of the type Matrice 350 RTK while it was carrying out multiple intelligence missions in the skies over Khan Younis."

No further details were provided by the group, while the Israeli military has not commented on the incident.

The Israeli army resumed its assault on Gaza on March 18, shattering a Jan. 19 ceasefire and prisoner swap agreement.

Israel has killed more than 51,200 Palestinians in the enclave since October 2023, most of them women and children.

Last November, the International Criminal Court issued arrest warrants for Netanyahu and his former Defense Minister Yoav Gallant for war crimes and crimes against humanity in Gaza.

Israel also faces a genocide case at the International Court of Justice for its war on the enclave.
