Israel kills 7 Palestinians, continues targeting homes in Gaza
2 children among fatalities, several injured in relentless Israeli attacks on besieged enclave
GAZA CITY, Palestine
Seven Palestinians, including two children, were killed early Friday in Israeli airstrikes and artillery shelling on homes in the Gaza Strip, as the Israeli army continues its destruction of residential buildings in the territory.
A medical source at the Nasser Hospital told Anadolu that five Palestinians, including a woman and two children, were killed, and others injured in an artillery strike targeting a home in the al-Mawasi area of Rafah, southern Gaza.
In central Gaza, two Palestinians were killed and nine others injured when an Israeli warplane bombed a home in the Nuseirat refugee camp, according to Al-Awda Hospital’s statement.
In another statement, the hospital said its medical teams were dealing with additional injuries resulting from strikes on several homes in the Nuseirat camp.
In Gaza City, Israeli artillery bombarded the Sabra and Zeitoun neighborhoods in the southern part of the city, accompanied by gunfire from military vehicles and drones. Witnesses reported injuries, with victims being transferred to the Al-Ahli Baptist Hospital.
Eyewitnesses also told Anadolu that the Israeli army continued its demolition of buildings and residential blocks near the Netzarim axis, which separates northern and southern Gaza.
Palestinian medics confirmed to Anadolu that seven injuries were taken to the Al-Ahli Baptist Hospital in Gaza after a drone targeted the entrance of the Sultan Bakery in the city center.
Israel has continued its brutal offensive on Gaza since a Hamas attack last October despite a UN Security Council resolution demanding an immediate cease-fire.
More than 41,100 people, mostly women and children, have since been killed and over 95,100 injured, according to local health authorities.
The Israeli onslaught has displaced almost the entire population of the territory amid an ongoing blockade that has led to severe shortages of food, clean water, and medicine.
Israel faces accusations of genocide for its actions in Gaza at the International Court of Justice.
