The Israeli army has arrested a 12-year-old boy from the northern West Bank town of Qalqilya, the Palestinian Prisoners' Society (PPS) said Thursday.

Khaled Ghannam was arrested on Wednesday while he was near the Qalqilya Zoo, the PPS said in a statement without giving further details.

Some 200 children are languishing in Israeli prisons, according to the same NGO.
