The Israeli army killed at least 24 Palestinians in fresh strikes targeting homes and tents across the Gaza Strip on Monday as it continued its deadly assault on the enclave, medics said.

Five people were killed and several others injured when fighter jets struck a tent for displaced people in central Gaza City, said a medical source.

Two more people were injured in a drone strike on a group of civilians in the Bureij refugee camp in the central Gaza Strip, the source added.

The official Palestinian news agency Wafa, citing medical sources, said a Palestinian man and his wife were killed in an Israeli strike on their tent in the Al-Mawasi area of Khan Younis in southern Gaza.

An Israeli warplane also struck a home in Khan Younis, killing five people and injuring several others. Two more people were killed in another attack in the same city, Wafa said.

Two more Palestinians were killed in another drone strike on a group of civilians in the Al-Manara neighborhood in southern Khan Younis, another medical source said.

A Palestinian also succumbed to his wounds sustained a few days ago from an Israeli strike in Deir al-Balah city in central Gaza, the source added.

Two more people were killed and several others injured in an Israeli strike in the Zeitoun neighborhood in southeastern Gaza City, another medical source said.

Israeli artillery shelling also killed two Palestinians on Salah al-Din Street in the city of Deir al-Balah in central Gaza.

In the southern city of Rafah, a Palestinian farmer lost his life in Israeli shelling.

An Israeli quadcopter drone shot and killed a Palestinian near Safed School in the Zeitoun neighborhood in southeastern Gaza City.

Separately, an Israeli airstrike targeting a house near Al-Joulani Mosque in the Tuffah neighborhood of eastern Gaza killed two Palestinians and wounded two others.

The Israeli army also blew up several homes in the Al-Tuffah neighborhood of Gaza City as it fired artillery shells on most of the city's eastern areas, including the Zeitoun and Shejaiya neighborhoods.

The Israeli army resumed its assaults on Gaza on March 18 and has since killed more than 1,860 people, injured nearly 4,900 others and shattered a Jan. 19 ceasefire and prisoner exchange agreement.

More than 51,200 Palestinians have been killed in Gaza in a brutal Israeli onslaught since October 2023, most of them women and children.

The International Criminal Court issued arrest warrants last November for Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and his former Defense Minister Yoav Gallant for war crimes and crimes against humanity in Gaza.

Israel also faces a genocide case at the International Court of Justice for its war on the enclave.
