772 Israeli soldiers killed since launch of Israeli onslaught on Gaza on Oct. 7 last year, says army
JERUSALEM
The Israeli army on Tuesday said an officer who was severely injured in fighting against Palestinians resistance in the northern Gaza Strip died of his wounds.
In a statement, the Israeli army said Maj. Guy Yaacov Nezri was severely injured on Oct. 19 in northern Gaza.
The soldier's death brings the number of Israeli soldiers killed since the launch of the Israeli onslaught on Gaza on Oct. 7 last year to 772.
Israel has launched a brutal offensive on the Gaza Strip following a Hamas attack last year, killing more than 43,000 people, mostly women and children, and injuring over 101,000 others.
The conflict has spread to Lebanon, with Israel launching deadly strikes across the country, which have killed more than 2,700 people and injured over 12,500 others since October last year.
Despite international warnings that the Middle East region was on the brink of a regional war amid Israel’s relentless attacks on Gaza and Lebanon, Tel Aviv expanded the conflict by launching a ground invasion into southern Lebanon on Oct. 1.
