Israeli occupiers injured a Palestinian farmer on Friday in raids on olive farms in the northern occupied West Bank.
The occupiers beat the 46-year-old Palestinian man in the town of Beita, south of Nablus, according to the Palestinian Red Crescent Society.
Witnesses told Anadolu that a group of Israeli occupiers fired stun grenades and tear gas at farmers in the Jabal al-Arma area, forcing them to leave.
“The olive harvest, traditionally an important source of income for Palestinian families, has become a dangerous season because of occupier attacks and restrictions on access to farmland,” a farmer, Ismail Abu al-Sheikh, told Anadolu.
“We used to celebrate the arrival of the season and eagerly wait for it. Today, we fear for our lives and the lives of our families and children,” he said.
Another farmer, Saqr al-Jabali, said: “Olive oil production this year could fall to around 20% because farmers are repeatedly prevented from reaching their land.”
Similar incidents were reported in Salfit province, where occupiers, backed by Israeli forces, prevented farmers from harvesting olives in the Deir Istiya area and forced others from their land in Farkha and Haris areas, according to the Palestinian official news agency Wafa.
Israeli forces also detained three farmers from Haris while they were harvesting olives, it added.
The olive harvest begins in early October and continues through the end of November, making it one of the most important agricultural and economic seasons for Palestinian towns and villages.
With the start of the season, attacks by occupiers and Israeli restrictions on farmers’ access to their land have intensified, including beatings, blocking access to fields, theft of crops and the uprooting or damaging of trees.
The Palestinian Colonization and Wall Resistance Commission said more than 45,000 trees were cut down or damaged across the West Bank in the first half of 2026, including more than 26,000 olive trees.
Nablus province recorded 900 occupier attacks during the same period, the highest number among West Bank provinces, according to Palestinian data.
6 Palestinians arrested
Elsewhere in the West Bank, the Israeli army arrested six Palestinians during raids, according to the Palestinian Prisoners' Media Office.
Israeli forces stormed Burqa, northwest of Nablus, raided and searched several homes, damaged their contents and arrested three Palestinians, the office said.
A young man was arrested in Zababdeh, south of Jenin, another in Jayyus in Qalqilya province and a sixth Palestinian in Hebron province.
Israeli forces also carried out raids in parts of Ramallah and Al-Bireh province, with no arrests reported there.
More than 9,300 Palestinian prisoners are held in Israeli prisons, including 350 children and 90 women, according to Palestinian organizations concerned with prisoners’ affairs.
Those organizations say detainees face torture, starvation and medical neglect, which have resulted in the deaths of dozens since the start of the war.
2,051 attacks in September
Palestine's Colonization and Wall Resistance Commission said Friday Israeli forces and occupiers carried out 2,051 attacks against Palestinians across the occupied West Bank in September.
Of these, 1,404 were carried out by the Israeli army and 647 by occupiers, according to the commission.
Ramallah and Al-Bireh recorded the highest number with 506 attacks, followed by Nablus with 342, Hebron with 272, Jenin with 202, Bethlehem with 187, Tulkarem with 152 and Jerusalem with 149.
The attacks included assaults on Palestinians, damage to property and crops, restrictions on access to land, and the demolition of homes and agricultural structures.
The commission said occupier attacks alone killed three Palestinians and injured 88 others, including seven children and six women.
Attacks on agricultural land affected 14,600 trees during September, including 9,334 olive trees.
Occupiers also attempted to establish 21 new outposts during the month, including 10 in Ramallah and Al-Bireh, five in Nablus, two each in Jerusalem and Bethlehem, and one each in Hebron and Jenin.
Israeli authorities issued two military seizure orders affecting 9.1 dunams (2.25 acres) of Palestinian land, as well as seven orders to remove trees and vegetation covering a declared total of 560.6 dunams (138.5 acres), according to the commission.
Israeli forces also carried out 62 demolition operations during September, affecting 254 structures, including houses.
The commission said occupiers carried out 5,561 attacks against Palestinians, their land and property from the beginning of 2026 through the end of September.
Around 750,000 Israeli occupiers live in illegal settlements and outposts across the West Bank, including occupied East Jerusalem.
Since October 2023, Israeli forces and occupiers have intensified attacks across the occupied West Bank, killing 1,206 Palestinians, injuring around 13,350 others and arresting more than 24,600, according to Palestinian figures.
