One Palestinian was injured and scores suffered temporary asphyxiation in clashes with Israeli forces in the occupied West Bank on Wednesday, according to the Palestinian Health Ministry.

Israeli forces staged a raid in Al-Mughayyir town near Ramallah, triggering clashes with local residents, according to eyewitnesses.

Israeli forces used rubber bullets and tear gas canisters to disperse Palestinians.

In a statement, the Health Ministry said one Palestinian was slightly injured during the clashes.

Scores of students also suffered asphyxiation by teargas fired by Israeli soldiers.

The Israeli army frequently carries out sweeping arrest campaigns across the occupied West Bank under the pretext of searching for "wanted" Palestinians.

According to Palestinian figures, roughly 6,400 Palestinians are currently held in Israeli prisons, including dozens of women and 300 minors.
