AMMAN, Jordan
The Jordanian Ministry of Interior said Tuesday that two people were injured as a result of shrapnel falling in several provinces of the kingdom following an Iranian missile attack on Israel.
In a statement, the ministry said: “We are monitoring the fall of several pieces of debris in various provinces, including the capital Amman, Balqa, Zarqa, Madaba, and Kerak, resulting in two minor injuries.”
Earlier, Israel reported that Iran had launched about 200 missiles in retaliation for the assassination of Hamas political leader Ismail Haniyeh, and Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah.
Israel had targeted Nasrallah and other Hezbollah commanders in an airstrike on the southern suburbs of Beirut on Sept. 27.
Haniyeh was killed in a strike on his residence during a visit to Tehran in late July.
