A Palestinian young man was martyred by Israeli army fire in the northern Gaza Strip on Wednesday, according to the Health Ministry.
The ministry identified the martyr as Nawaf Ahmad al-Attar, 20, without giving details about the circumstances of his death.
The Palestinian Red Crescent, for its part, said al-Attar was shot in his abdomen while fishing in the northern Gaza Strip.
There was no comment from the Israeli military on the killing.
Roughly 50,000 Palestinians in blockaded Gaza earn their living through fishing, according to the Gaza-based fishermen’s union.
Since March 30, more than 200 Palestinians have been martyred by Israeli army gunfire -- and thousands more injured -- while taking part in ongoing anti-occupation protests along the Gaza-Israel buffer zone.
