A Palestinian man was killed by Israeli army fire in the West Bank on Monday, taking the death toll in the occupied territory to 154 since Oct. 7, the Health Ministry said.

A ministry statement said three more people were injured by Israeli forces in the town of Halhul north of Ramallah city in the southern West Bank.

Tension has soared across the West Bank amid Israeli air and ground attacks in the Gaza Strip following a cross-border attack by Hamas on Oct. 7.

According to the Palestinian Prisoner’s Society, some 2,150 Palestinians have been detained by Israeli forces in the West Bank since the start of the conflict.

At least 9,770 Palestinians, including 4,800 children and 2,550 women, have been killed in the Israeli bombardments in the Gaza Strip.

Nearly 1,600 Israelis have been killed, according to the official figures.
