Sheikh Mishal Al Ahmad Al Jaber Al Sabah takes constitutional oath as Kuwait’s new emir

ISTANBUL, Türkiye

Sheikh Mishal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah on Tuesday took the constitutional oath as Kuwait’s new emir, succeeding late Sheikh Nawaf Al Ahmad Al Jaber.

“His Highness the Emir of the country, Sheikh Mishal Al Ahmad Al Jaber Al Sabah, delivered the royal speech following his constitutional oath,” the country’s National Assembly said on X.

On Dec. 16, Prince Nawaf Al Ahmad Al Jaber Al Sabah died at the age of 86.

On the same day, the Cabinet proclaimed Sheikh Mishal as the new emir of Kuwait.
