Syria offers condolences to Türkiye over hotel fire victims
'Turkish people have always stood by us in our toughest times, and today, Syrians stand with their Turkish brothers,' says Syrian Foreign Ministry

Syria extended its condolences to Türkiye on Wednesday for the victims of a hotel fire in the northwestern Bolu province.
"We are deeply saddened by the tragic fire that claimed the lives of over 76 people in Kartalkaya," the Syrian Foreign Ministry said in a statement on X.
Expressing sympathy for the victims, the ministry said: "Our deepest condolences go to the families and loved ones of the deceased, and we wish a speedy recovery to those injured."
"The Turkish people have always stood by us in our toughest times, and today, Syrians stand with their Turkish brothers, wishing for a swift resolution to this difficult time," the statement added.
A fire at a ski resort in northern Türkiye has killed at least 76 people and injured 51 others, Interior Minister Ali Yerlikaya said on Tuesday.
Kartalkaya, located in Bolu, is one of Türkiye's premier winter tourism destinations, attracting thousands of visitors during the ski season. The resort is approximately 295 kilometers (183 miles) east of Istanbul.
