Syrian foreign minister discusses economic recovery at Al-Ula conference in Saudi Arabia

Syrian Foreign Minister Assad al-Shaibani discussed Syria’s economic recovery at an economic conference in the city of Al-Ula, western Saudi Arabia, local media reported on Sunday.
The two-day Al-Ula Conference for Emerging Market Economies, which began on Sunday, is jointly organized by the Saudi Finance Ministry and the International Monetary Fund, and attended by finance ministers, central bank governors, policymakers, and economic experts from 48 countries around the world.
According to the Syrian state news agency SANA, al-Shaibani discussed the lifting of the sanctions to enable Syria "to prosper and recover economically," and a roadmap for the economic vision in his country.
The conference also discussed the reintegration of Syria's Central Bank into the international system, and representing Syria in the World Bank and the IMF, it added.
The top Syrian diplomat held a meeting with Saudi Finance Minister Mohammed bin Abdullah al-Jadaan on the sidelines of the conference, SANA also said.
