Syrian national arrested with suicide belt in Turkey

HATAY, Turkey

Turkish security forces on Tuesday arrested a Syrian national carrying an explosive belt in southern Turkey’s Hatay province, according to a security source.

The man, identified as K.A., was apprehended in the Guvecci neighborhood of Yayladagi district near the Syrian border by the gendarmerie units, said the source, who spoke on condition of anonymity due to restrictions on talking to the media.

He was carrying a bag with vest, the source added.
