War crimes complaint against Israeli military officer filed in Spain for Gaza atrocities
Sgt. Mori Keisar is accused of genocide, crimes against humanity, war crimes during Gaza offensive
ISTANBUL
Two Palestinian rights organizations, one based in Belgium and one in the northeastern Spanish county of Catalonia, have filed a war crime complaint in Barcelona against a senior Israeli military official for his involvement in genocide, crimes against humanity and war crimes during Israel's military intervention in the Gaza Strip.
The Belgium-based Hind Rajab Foundation and the Palestinian Community in Catalonia filed a war crimes complaint against Sgt. Mori Keisar, accusing him of genocide, crimes against humanity and war crimes during Israel's military offensives in Gaza, the foundation said Saturday.
The charges also include using civilian homes for military purposes, attacking a UN school with a grenade launcher, demolishing civilian homes and firing indiscriminately on civilian targets.
Keisar’s platoon was also involved in the forcible displacement of residents and raiding the Nasser Hospital.
The complaint also calls for an immediate investigation and detention of Keisar, urging Spanish authorities to act under international law.
The Hind Rajab Foundation concluded that it seeks justice for Gaza’s victims and calls for global support in holding war criminals accountable.
