Yazeed Al-Rajhi wins stage 4 of Dakar Rally in cars, Daniel Sanders in motorcycles
South Africa's Henk Lategan leads general classification in cars, Australia's Sanders leads general classification in motorcycles
ISTANBUL
Yazeed Al-Rajhi from Saudi Arabia in cars and Daniel Sanders from Australia in motorcycles finished first in the 4th stage of the 2025 Dakar Rally.
Overdrive's Al-Rajhi took first place in the cars with a time of 4 hours 26 minutes and 40 seconds.
South Africa's Henk Lategan (Toyota Gazoo) was second with a time of 4 minutes 51 seconds and Argentina's Juan Cruz Yacopini (Overdrive) was third, 10 minutes 45 seconds behind.
Lategan ranked first in the general classification with 23 hours 36 minutes 24 seconds, 6 minutes 54 seconds ahead of Al Rajhi.
Meanwhile, French Sebastien Loeb, who reached the championship nine times in the World Rally Championship, had to withdraw from the Dakar Rally, which he participated for the 9th time with the aim of winning his first championship, before the 4th stage due to the damage to his vehicle.
4th stage win for Sanders in motorcycles
In the motorcycles, Daniel Sanders from the Red Bull KTM team outpaced his rivals in 5 hours, 10 minutes and 33 seconds to win the 4th stage, including the preliminary stage.
The Australian rider was followed by Spain's Tosha Schareina (Monster Energy Honda) by 15 seconds and Chilean Jose Ignacio Cornejo (Hero), 7 minutes 49 seconds behind.
Sanders maintained his position at the top of the general classification with a time of 25 hours 15 minutes 33 seconds, some 13 minutes 26 seconds ahead of Schareina.
Stage 4 of the 47th Dakar Rally was held on the 415-kilometer course between the Saudi Arabian cities of Al Henakiyah and Alula.
The 5th stage of the Dakar Rally will be held Thursday on the 428-kilometer course between the cities of Alula and Hail.
The 2025 Dakar Rally will end in the city of Shubaytah on January 17.
